The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 5.50.47

पर्वतात्पर्वतं यान्ति पुरोऽद्रेरिव दन्तिनः ।
परां कोटिं प्रयातस्य स्वसंवित्त्युन्नतस्थितेः ॥ ४७ ॥

parvatātparvataṃ yānti puro'dreriva dantinaḥ |
parāṃ koṭiṃ prayātasya svasaṃvittyunnatasthiteḥ || 47 ||

Behold the devotees going from hill to hill, and roving like bigbodied elephants, for the performance of their devotions; but they are far below the spiritualist, who sits as high above them as on the top of the mountain.
