The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 5.50.21

चेतनं चित्तरिक्तं हि प्रत्यक्चेतनमुच्यते ।
निर्मनस्कस्वभावं तन्न तत्र कलनामलः ॥ २१ ॥

cetanaṃ cittariktaṃ hi pratyakcetanamucyate |
nirmanaskasvabhāvaṃ tanna tatra kalanāmalaḥ || 21 ||

Intelligence unappertaining to the mind, is called perspicacity (pratyak chetana);which is of a nature unconnected with intellectuality, and freed from the foulness of the fumes of fancy.
