The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

अन्ते च संपरिज्ञातः स प्रविष्टो हुताशनम् ।
अद्य द्वादशवर्षाणि समतीतानि तापस ॥ २० ॥

ante ca saṃparijñātaḥ sa praviṣṭo hutāśanam |
adya dvādaśavarṣāṇi samatītāni tāpasa || 20 ||

Being at last discovered to be of so vile a race, he committed his self-immolation on the funeral pyre; and it is now a dozen of years, since the direful event has taken place.
