तत्रावलोकयामास स्थानानि सदनानि च ।
कल्पक्षोभविवृत्तानि जगन्तीवाम्बुजोद्भवः ॥ २ ॥

tatrāvalokayāmāsa sthānāni sadanāni ca |
kalpakṣobhavivṛttāni jagantīvāmbujodbhavaḥ || 2 ||

He went back to the place, and observed the abodes that lay scattered upon the plain; as when the lotus-born Brahma looks over the ruins, made by the great deluge at the end of a kalpa age.
