The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 5.47.57

ग्राम्या ऊचुः ।
यथा कथयसि ब्रह्मंस्तत्तथा न तदन्यथा ।
कटंजनामा श्वपच इहाभूद्दारुणाकृतिः ॥ ५७ ॥

grāmyā ūcuḥ |
yathā kathayasi brahmaṃstattathā na tadanyathā |
kaṭaṃjanāmā śvapaca ihābhūddāruṇākṛtiḥ || 57 ||

The villagers said:—It is an undeniable truth, O Brahman! as you say, that there lived a chandala of hideous shape by name of Katanjala at that place.
