The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 5.47.40

तच्चेदृशनिजाचारं भूतमण्डलमागतः ।
करभः कण्टकार्थ्येकः कारञ्जमिव काननम् ॥ ४० ॥

taccedṛśanijācāraṃ bhūtamaṇḍalamāgataḥ |
karabhaḥ kaṇṭakārthyekaḥ kārañjamiva kānanam || 40 ||

At last he came to the country of the Bhatas (Bhoteas), a people following their own debased customs; and thought himself to be got amongst a savage people, as a camel is confounded to find itself, fallen in a karanja forest, in quest of thorny thistles.
