The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 5.46.44

इति निश्चित्य गवलो ज्वलिते ज्वलने पुनः ।
पतङ्गवदनुद्वेगमकरोदाहुतिं वपुः ॥ ४४ ॥

iti niścitya gavalo jvalite jvalane punaḥ |
pataṅgavadanudvegamakarodāhutiṃ vapuḥ || 44 ||

Thus resolved, Gavala prepared a pile for himself, and made an offering of his body in the burning furnace, like the poor moth dropping on fire, without betraying a sigh.
