The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

क्रूरकर्मकराकारात्संगताशुभदायिनः ।
तस्माद्विशेषेण जना राक्षसादिव दुद्रुवुः ॥ २७ ॥

krūrakarmakarākārātsaṃgatāśubhadāyinaḥ |
tasmādviśeṣeṇa janā rākṣasādiva dudruvuḥ || 27 ||

The people fled from him as from a heinous Rakshasa, who is the cause of evil and danger only.
