The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

तावद्वातायनगताः कान्ताः प्रकृतयस्तथा ।
श्वपचोऽयमिति ज्ञात्वा म्लानतामलमाययुः ॥ १६ ॥

tāvadvātāyanagatāḥ kāntāḥ prakṛtayastathā |
śvapaco'yamiti jñātvā mlānatāmalamāyayuḥ || 16 ||

At this instant his consorts and servants that were standing at the window, overheard their conversation, and were in deep sorrow to learn that he was a Chandala by birth.
