The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 5.45.44

एवं स श्वपचो राज्यं प्राप कीरपुरान्तरे ।
आरण्यं हरिणं पुष्टमप्राणमिव वायसः ॥ ४४ ॥

evaṃ sa śvapaco rājyaṃ prāpa kīrapurāntare |
āraṇyaṃ hariṇaṃ puṣṭamaprāṇamiva vāyasaḥ || 44 ||

In this manner, was the Chandala made a king in the city of the Kirs; and he was as much overjoyed at his unexpected good fortune, as a raven is delighted to find a stout dead deer in the forest.
