The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

तमसौ श्वपचो नागं कौतुकोद्धुरया दृशा ।
चिरमालोकयामास स्पन्दयुक्ताचलोपमम् ॥ ३० ॥

tamasau śvapaco nāgaṃ kautukoddhurayā dṛśā |
ciramālokayāmāsa spandayuktācalopamam || 30 ||

The Chandala remained to look steadfastly on the elephant with his curious eye, and found it to be no other than a hill in motion.
