The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 5.43.7

प्रह्लादनामा प्रथममात्मैव स्वयमात्मना ।
स्वयैव परया शक्त्या विष्णुभक्तौ नियोजितः ॥ ७ ॥

prahlādanāmā prathamamātmaiva svayamātmanā |
svayaiva parayā śaktyā viṣṇubhaktau niyojitaḥ || 7 ||

Prahlada came at first to know the soul by himself (of his own intuition), it was afterwards by means of his intellectual power, that he was led to the persuasion and made many proselytes after his own example.
