The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

शुद्धपक्षस्य शुद्धस्य हंसौघः सरसो यथा ।
यस्माद्गुणौघो निर्याति जीवितं तस्य शोभते ॥ ५३ ॥

śuddhapakṣasya śuddhasya haṃsaughaḥ saraso yathā |
yasmādguṇaugho niryāti jīvitaṃ tasya śobhate || 53 ||

He who is pure in his life, and keeps company with pure-minded men; who spreads the purity of his conduct all about, and shuns the society of the impure;is as graceful to behold, as the hoary swan with its snow white wings, in the company of the fair fowls of the silvery lake.
