The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 5.36.42

प्राक्तनीं दीर्घदौरात्म्यदशां स्मृत्वा पुनःपुनः ।
कोहं किं तद्बभूवेति हसन्मुक्ताच्छटासितम् ॥ ४२ ॥

prāktanīṃ dīrghadaurātmyadaśāṃ smṛtvā punaḥpunaḥ |
kohaṃ kiṃ tadbabhūveti hasanmuktācchaṭāsitam || 42 ||

Think over and over on the actions of thy past life, and the long series of thy wicked acts; and then with a sigh blush to think upon what thou hadst been before, and cease to do such acts anymore.
