The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

दीपस्येव प्रशान्तस्य न वेद्मि गतिमीश्वरः ।
दृष्ट एव त्वयीशाने पलायनपरायणः ॥ ५८ ॥

dīpasyeva praśāntasya na vedmi gatimīśvaraḥ |
dṛṣṭa eva tvayīśāne palāyanaparāyaṇaḥ || 58 ||

As you know not where the flame of the lighted lamp is fled, after it is extinguished; so we know not where our lordly egoism is hid, at the sight of our God before us.
