The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

आविर्भावतिरोभावैराशापाशविचेष्टनैः ।
अहं चिरमहंकारद्विषा समवमोषितः ॥ ५४ ॥

āvirbhāvatirobhāvairāśāpāśaviceṣṭanaiḥ |
ahaṃ ciramahaṃkāradviṣā samavamoṣitaḥ || 54 ||

It has its repeated births and deaths, owing to its interminable desires; and thus I am always deceived by this great enemy—my own egoism.
