The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 5.35.28

रूपालोकमनस्कारयुक्तं सत्त्वं तथात्मनः ।
नित्यः सोऽयं महादेवो देवानामेव बोधकः ॥ २८ ॥

rūpālokamanaskārayuktaṃ sattvaṃ tathātmanaḥ |
nityaḥ so'yaṃ mahādevo devānāmeva bodhakaḥ || 28 ||

As the Lord unfolds everything to light, by the external organ of sight and the internal organ of thinking; so the Great God enlightens the gods (sun, moon, Indra and others) by his own light.
