The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

आग्नेयी दाहकलना पायसी रसनिर्वृतिः ।
मौनी महातपःसिद्धिर्विद्या बार्हस्पती तथा ॥ ८५ ॥

āgneyī dāhakalanā pāyasī rasanirvṛtiḥ |
maunī mahātapaḥsiddhirvidyā bārhaspatī tathā || 85 ||

Inflammation is the property of fire, and moisture is that of water; taciturnity is the quality of devotees for success of devotion, and loquacity is the qualification of learning.
