The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 5.32.30

न तथा दुःखयन्त्यङ्गे मज्जन्त्यो वज्रसूचयः ।
वैसादृश्येन संबद्धा यथैता वस्तुदृष्टयः ॥ ३० ॥

na tathā duḥkhayantyaṅge majjantyo vajrasūcayaḥ |
vaisādṛśyena saṃbaddhā yathaitā vastudṛṣṭayaḥ || 30 ||

It does not grieve us so much to be pierced with thorns and needles in our bodies, as to see things of opposite natures, to be set in conjunction with one another.
