The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 5.31.55

अयं मे केतुमद्वह्निसुन्दरो ज्वलितोऽसितः ।
कुठारो दैत्यवृक्षाणां नन्दयन्नन्दकः स्थितः ॥ ५५ ॥

ayaṃ me ketumadvahnisundaro jvalito'sitaḥ |
kuṭhāro daityavṛkṣāṇāṃ nandayannandakaḥ sthitaḥ || 55 ||

I see there in the flaming fire, the flashing sword—nandaka of Vishnu, which like an axe hath cut down the gigantic bodies of Daityas like trees, while it gave great joy to the gods.
