The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

श्रीवसिष्ठ उवाच ।
इति संचिन्त्य बलवान्बलिरामीलितेक्षणः ।
दध्यौ कमलपत्राक्षं शुक्रमाकाशमन्दिरम् ॥ १ ॥

śrīvasiṣṭha uvāca |
iti saṃcintya balavānbalirāmīlitekṣaṇaḥ |
dadhyau kamalapatrākṣaṃ śukramākāśamandiram || 1 ||

Vasishtha said:—So saying the mighty Bali closed his eyes, and thought upon the lotus-eyed Sukra, abiding in his heavenly abode.
