The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 5.25.16

एतया तदलं मेऽस्तु तुच्छया पूर्वचिन्तया ।
पौरुषं याति साफल्यं वर्तमानचिकित्सया ॥ १६ ॥

etayā tadalaṃ me'stu tucchayā pūrvacintayā |
pauruṣaṃ yāti sāphalyaṃ vartamānacikitsayā || 16 ||

But it is in vain to be overwhelmed with the sad thoughts of the past, while I should use my manly exertions to improve the present.
