The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 5.24.60

तद्वदाश्वस्यते भाते परमे कारणे यथा ।
पौरुषं यत्नमाश्रित्य दैवं कृत्वा सुदूरतः ॥ ६० ॥

tadvadāśvasyate bhāte parame kāraṇe yathā |
pauruṣaṃ yatnamāśritya daivaṃ kṛtvā sudūrataḥ || 60 ||

Therefore expect always how your soul may find its rest in the divine Spirit, by relying on the exertion of your manliness, and leaving aside your dependance on the eventualities of destiny.
