The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 5.24.23

अभ्यासेन विना कश्चिन्नाप्नोति विषयारतिम् ।
अप्यत्यन्तबलो देही देशान्तरमिवागतिः ॥ २३ ॥

abhyāsena vinā kaścinnāpnoti viṣayāratim |
apyatyantabalo dehī deśāntaramivāgatiḥ || 23 ||

It is impossible without the habit of apathy, to have a distaste for sensible objects, as it is no way possible for an able-bodied man, to travel abroad by sitting motionless at home.
