The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 5.24.22

तावद्भ्रमन्ति दुःखेषु संसारावटवासिनः ।
विरतिं विषयेष्वेते यावन्नायान्ति देहिनः ॥ २२ ॥

tāvadbhramanti duḥkheṣu saṃsārāvaṭavāsinaḥ |
viratiṃ viṣayeṣvete yāvannāyānti dehinaḥ || 22 ||

So long are all embodied souls destined to rove about the wilderness of the world, as there is the want of resignation in their heart of all the sensible objects in nature.
