The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 5.24.18

एषैव परमा युक्तिरनयैव महामदः ।
स्वमनोमत्तमातङ्गो द्रागित्येवावदम्यते ॥ १८ ॥

eṣaiva paramā yuktiranayaiva mahāmadaḥ |
svamanomattamātaṅgo drāgityevāvadamyate || 18 ||

This is the best expedient for removal of the great delusion of this world, and subduing the big elephant of the mind at once.
