The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 5.24.8

अभ्यासेनोभयं तस्मात्सममेव समारभेत् ।
राजसंदर्शनं तस्य मन्त्रिणश्च पराजयम् ॥ ८ ॥

abhyāsenobhayaṃ tasmātsamameva samārabhet |
rājasaṃdarśanaṃ tasya mantriṇaśca parājayam || 8 ||

Therefore must we begin with the practice of both these exercises at once;namely, approaching by degrees to the sight of the king, and slighting gradually the authority of the minister.
