The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

ऊर्मितां पुनरासाद्य पुनरेति निरूर्मिताम् ।
यथा जलं तथैवायं तां तामेति क्रियां जनः ॥ ३५ ॥

ūrmitāṃ punarāsādya punareti nirūrmitām |
yathā jalaṃ tathaivāyaṃ tāṃ tāmeti kriyāṃ janaḥ || 35 ||

The actions of men are as those of the waves, which rise to fall and then rise again to subside in the waters.
