Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

आपातमात्रमधुरमावश्यकपरिक्षयम् ।
भोगोपभोगमात्रं मे किं नामेदं सुखावहम् ॥ ३० ॥

bhogopabhogamātraṃ me kiṃ nāmedaṃ sukhāvaham || 30 ||
