The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 5.19.26

पुण्य उवाच ।
किं पुत्र घनतां शोकं नयस्यान्ध्यैककारणम् ।
वाष्पधाराधरं घोरं प्रावट्काल इवाम्बुजम् ॥ २६ ॥

puṇya uvāca |
kiṃ putra ghanatāṃ śokaṃ nayasyāndhyaikakāraṇam |
vāṣpadhārādharaṃ ghoraṃ prāvaṭkāla ivāmbujam || 26 ||

Punya said:—Why my boy, is thy soul overcast by the cloud of thy grief; and why dost thou shed the tears from thy lotus-eyes, as profusely as the showers of the rain, only to render thee blind.
