The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 5.19.23

मातापित्रोस्तु गतयोरौर्ध्वदेहिककर्मणि ।
पुण्य एव स्थितोऽव्यग्रः पावनो दुःखमाययौ ॥ २३ ॥

mātāpitrostu gatayoraurdhvadehikakarmaṇi |
puṇya eva sthito'vyagraḥ pāvano duḥkhamāyayau || 23 ||

Seeing the demise of both parents, the elder son Punya was busily employed in performing their funeral services; but the younger Pavana was deeply absorbed in grief at their loss.
