The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

आसीदभ्युदितज्ञानस्तपोराशिरुदारधीः ।
मुनिर्दीर्घतपा नाम तपो मूर्तमिवापरम् ॥ ११ ॥

āsīdabhyuditajñānastaporāśirudāradhīḥ |
munirdīrghatapā nāma tapo mūrtamivāparam || 11 ||

There lived a sage by name of Dirghatapas, who was a personification of devotion, and a man of enlightened understanding; he had a noble mind, and was inured in austerities of devotion.
