The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 5.17.18

निश्चयेषु चतुर्ष्वेषु बन्धाय प्रथमः स्मृतः ।
त्रयो मोक्षाय कथिताः शुद्धभावनयोत्थिताः ॥ १८ ॥

niścayeṣu caturṣveṣu bandhāya prathamaḥ smṛtaḥ |
trayo mokṣāya kathitāḥ śuddhabhāvanayotthitāḥ || 18 ||

Of these four kinds of beliefs, the first is the leader to bondage;while the three others growing from purity of thought, lead to the path of liberation.
