The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 5.14.23

बभ्रुं हिनस्ति मार्जारो मार्जारं श्वा निकृन्तति ।
ऋक्षः कौलेयकं हन्ति ऋक्षं व्याघ्रो निकृन्तति ॥ २३ ॥

babhruṃ hinasti mārjāro mārjāraṃ śvā nikṛntati |
ṛkṣaḥ kauleyakaṃ hanti ṛkṣaṃ vyāghro nikṛntati || 23 ||

The weasel is killed by the cat, which is killed again by the dog; the bear destroys the dog, and is at last destroyed by the tiger.
