The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

दिशं प्रति गिरीन्द्रेषु पुलिन्दाद्या वने वने ।
निघ्नन्ति मृगलक्षाणि कैवात्र परिदेवना ॥ १९ ॥

diśaṃ prati girīndreṣu pulindādyā vane vane |
nighnanti mṛgalakṣāṇi kaivātra paridevanā || 19 ||

Whom shall I sorrow for, when I observe on every side the millions of deer and beasts of chase, that are killed every day in the hills and forests, by their hunters and sportsmen.
