The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 5.13.88

चिच्छक्तेः स्पन्दशक्तेश्च संबन्धः कल्प्यते मनः ।
मिथ्यैव तत्समुत्पन्नं मिथ्या ज्ञानं तदुच्यते ॥ ८८ ॥

cicchakteḥ spandaśakteśca saṃbandhaḥ kalpyate manaḥ |
mithyaiva tatsamutpannaṃ mithyā jñānaṃ taducyate || 88 ||

It is the union of the intellectual and vibrating powers, which is thought to constitute the mind. Its production is as false, as the falsity of its knowledge.
