The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

वैराग्यात्कारणाभ्यासाद्युक्तितो व्यसनक्षयात् ।
परमार्थावबोधाच्च रोध्यन्ते प्राणवायवः ॥ ८५ ॥

vairāgyātkāraṇābhyāsādyuktito vyasanakṣayāt |
paramārthāvabodhācca rodhyante prāṇavāyavaḥ || 85 ||

It is therefore by repressing the mind, that the vital breath is also repressed, to produce longevity and healthiness.
