The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

चेत्येन रहिता यैषा चित्तद्ब्रह्म सनातनम् ।
चेत्येन सहिता यैषा चित्सेयं कलनोच्यते ॥ ५३ ॥

cetyena rahitā yaiṣā cittadbrahma sanātanam |
cetyena sahitā yaiṣā citseyaṃ kalanocyate || 53 ||

The intellect which is free from thoughts (chetyas), is the ever lasting Brahma; but being joined with thought, it is styled the imaginative principle or Mind.
