The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

चित्स्वभावपरामृष्टा स्पन्दशक्तिरसन्मयी ।
कल्पना चित्तमित्युक्त्या कथ्यते शास्त्रदृष्टिभिः ॥ ५१ ॥

citsvabhāvaparāmṛṣṭā spandaśaktirasanmayī |
kalpanā cittamityuktyā kathyate śāstradṛṣṭibhiḥ || 51 ||

The nature of the intellect is known to exclude the idea of motion or pulsation from it; and the power which has vibration in it, is called intellection or the mind in the sastras.
