The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 5.13.35

मनसैव मनश्छित्त्वा कुठारेणेव पादपम् ।
पदं पावनमासाद्य सद्य एव स्थिरो भव ॥ ३५ ॥

manasaiva manaśchittvā kuṭhāreṇeva pādapam |
padaṃ pāvanamāsādya sadya eva sthiro bhava || 35 ||

Employ your mind to hew down the cravings of your mind, as they use the axe to cut down a tree, and you will then rest in quiet as you arrive at the state of holiness.
