The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

ये दैवनिष्ठाः कृत्यादौ कुविकल्पपरायणाः ।
तेषां मन्दा मतिस्तात नानुगम्या विनाशनी ॥ ९ ॥

ye daivaniṣṭhāḥ kṛtyādau kuvikalpaparāyaṇāḥ |
teṣāṃ mandā matistāta nānugamyā vināśanī || 9 ||

They who rely their faith in the gods, and depend upon them for fulfilment of their desires and future rewards, are perverted in their understandings, and cannot be heirs of immortality.
