The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

जायन्ते च म्रियन्ते च प्राकृताः क्षुद्रजन्तवः ।
धरा तैरेव नीरन्ध्रा दुर्लभाः साधुसाधवः ॥ ४२ ॥

jāyante ca mriyante ca prākṛtāḥ kṣudrajantavaḥ |
dharā taireva nīrandhrā durlabhāḥ sādhusādhavaḥ || 42 ||

I see the earth full of common people, who are incessantly born and dying in it in multitudes; but I find few honest and righteous men in it.
