The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

निजचेतोविलव्यालाः शरीरस्थलपल्लवाः ।
आधयो व्याधयश्चैते निवार्यन्ते कथं किल ॥ ४० ॥

nijacetovilavyālāḥ śarīrasthalapallavāḥ |
ādhayo vyādhayaścaite nivāryante kathaṃ kila || 40 ||

We have serpents creeping in the cells of our hearts, and have our bodies filled with the brambles of diseases and dangers, and know not how to destroy them.
