The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

आदावन्तेऽप्यनन्तोऽहं मध्ये पेलवजीवितः ।
बालश्चित्रेन्दुनेवाहं किं मुधा धृतिमास्थितः ॥ ८ ॥

ādāvante'pyananto'haṃ madhye pelavajīvitaḥ |
bālaścitrendunevāhaṃ kiṃ mudhā dhṛtimāsthitaḥ || 8 ||

I have an immortal soul lasting from before, and to continue even after my present existence, the present life is a destructible One, and yet I am a fool to rely in it, like a boy believing the painted moon as real.
