The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

कियन्मात्रमिदं नाम राज्यमाजीवितं मम ।
किमेतेन विना दुःखं तिष्ठामि हतधीर्यथा ॥ ७ ॥

kiyanmātramidaṃ nāma rājyamājīvitaṃ mama |
kimetena vinā duḥkhaṃ tiṣṭhāmi hatadhīryathā || 7 ||

Short is the duration of my royalty also, which is limited to the period of my lifetime only; how is it then that I am secure of its continuance as a thoughtless man.
