The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 5.8.18

अन्ये ऊचुः ।
उपशमसुखमाहरेत्पवित्रं सुशमवतः शममेति साधुचेतः ।
प्रशमितमनसः स्वके स्वरूपे भवति सुखे स्थितिरुत्तमा चिराय ॥ १८ ॥

anye ūcuḥ |
upaśamasukhamāharetpavitraṃ suśamavataḥ śamameti sādhucetaḥ |
praśamitamanasaḥ svake svarūpe bhavati sukhe sthitiruttamā cirāya || 18 ||

At last they said:—Let men try to secure the pure happiness of quietism, which serves to give tranquillity to the minds of the righteous. The sober-minded that are situated in their real and natural temperament, have their best repose in the lap of undisturbed and everlasting tranquillity.
