The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 5.8.15

अन्ये ऊचुः ।
सर्वाशाः किल संत्यज्य फलमेतदवाप्यते ।
येनाशाविषवल्लीनां मूलमाला विलूयते ॥ १५ ॥

anye ūcuḥ |
sarvāśāḥ kila saṃtyajya phalametadavāpyate |
yenāśāviṣavallīnāṃ mūlamālā vilūyate || 15 ||

Others again declared said:—It is by forsaking all other desires, that one obtains this object of his wish; and this being had, the poisonous plants of all other desires, are entirely uprooted from the heart.
