The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 5.5.34

सुखदुःखे न देहस्य सर्वातीतस्य नात्मनः ।
एते ह्यज्ञानकस्यैव तस्मिन्नष्टे न कस्यचित् ॥ ३४ ॥

sukhaduḥkhe na dehasya sarvātītasya nātmanaḥ |
ete hyajñānakasyaiva tasminnaṣṭe na kasyacit || 34 ||

Neither the body nor the soul is subject to pain or pleasure, all which relate to the ignorance of the mind; and this ignorance being removed, it will be found that they appertain to neither.
