The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

ततश्चाभ्युदिता श्यामा कामिनीशोकहारिणी ।
क्षीरोदादिव माहेन्द्री चन्द्रावश्यायदायिनी ॥ १० ॥

tataścābhyuditā śyāmā kāminīśokahāriṇī |
kṣīrodādiva māhendrī candrāvaśyāyadāyinī || 10 ||

Then rose the shade of night to allay the sorrow of lovelorn damsels, as the moon arose from the milky ocean of the east, to cool the heat of the setting sun.
