The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

श्रीवाल्मीकिरुवाच ।
शरत्तारकिताकाशस्तिमितायां सुसंसदि ।
कथयत्येवमाह्लादि वसिष्ठे पावनं वचः ॥ २ ॥

śrīvālmīkiruvāca |
śarattārakitākāśastimitāyāṃ susaṃsadi |
kathayatyevamāhlādi vasiṣṭhe pāvanaṃ vacaḥ || 2 ||

Valmiki says:—As Vasishtha was delivering his holy words, the assembly of the princes remained, as still as the starry train, in the clear sky of an autumnal night.
